If the aircraft video is not being displayed on the main screen, although you are able to connect to the aircraft. There are two things to inspect:
Potential sources | Causes | What to inspect |
---|---|---|
Camera Stream Mode | With the Arrowhead system, operators have the ability to toggle on and off the video stream. This functionality comes into play primarily during perch operation. With a digital video feed, it can be hard for the operator to ensure the feed they are viewing is not frozen. Although the video system on Arrowhead is robust, we provide the ability for operators to toggle on/off the stream. This ensures that, as long as the video stream comes back, it is live and functioning correctly. | Understanding the Arrowheads camera stream functionality is critical to success with the system. The directional pad on the controller controls the video system on the Arrowhead, with the up and down buttons, the user can toggle between the off and on state of the video system. If your video does not connect automatically, it may have started up in the “off” state. Use the switch video stream button relevant to your controller (see image below). |
Overheating | During long perch times, in high temperature environments (90+ degrees ambient). The system may experience an overheating event, when this occurs, the system will prioritize flight systems over the video and disable streaming to allow the system to conduct safe land and disarm procedures. | Inspect the fan on the bottom of the aircraft with the system powered on, ensure the fan is operating properly, it should be on at all times. If the fan is working properly, the system has simply reached its temperature limit given the length of perch and ambient temperature. |
Camera Damage | In the event of large or repeated crashes to the system, there is a chance that the camera system may sustain internal or external damage. This can cause the video system to not function properly. | Inspect the camera lens, and check for damage. Gently press on the camera, ensure there is no movement in the camera. If either of these symptoms are seen, or none of the previous troubleshooting tips help, there may be internal damage that needs to be fixed in our facility. |
