- [ ] Rog Ally
- [ ] Plug the USB-C cable into the ROG Ally
- [ ] Power on the ROG Ally
- [ ] UXV
- [ ] Power on the Device
- [ ] Power on the Radio (hold power button until light turns blue)
- [ ] Attach aircraft battery and ensure it is secured in place
- [ ] Powering up aircraft on a flat surface will reduce the likelihood of software errors on startup
- [ ] Wait 45-60 seconds for the aircraft to join the controller mesh network
- [ ] Once linked, confirm battery is charged and live video feed looks ok
Indoor Operations and Takeoff
- [ ] Ensure aircraft is level and clear of obstacles
- [ ] Ensure aircraft is in the correct mode
- [ ] Mode set to “Position”
- [ ] Turtle Mode off
- [ ] Ensure controller sticks are clear and operate smoothly
- [ ] Announce takeoff
- [ ] Arm the aircraft
- [ ] Hold the throttle (left stick) all the way down in Stabilize mode
- [ ] Takeoff
- [ ] Climb to 3-4 ft off the ground
- [ ] Confirm altitude hold and position hold are stable
- [ ] Proceed with flight
Turtle Mode
- [ ] Ensure the aircraft is in the Disarmed state
- [ ] Press the “Start Turtle Mode” Button (The button will read “Stop Turtle Mode” when Turtle Mode is Activated)
- [ ] When the state reads “Ready to Fly”, arm the aircraft. The propellers will not spin, but the state should read “Armed”
- [ ] If the aircraft state reads “Not Ready”, change the flight mode to Altitude or Stabilize
- [ ] Using the right stick, execute the flip by holding the stick in the designated the flip direction (when the aircraft is on its back flipping over the tail end is easiest)
- [ ] Disarm the aircraft
- [ ] Press the “Stop Turtle Mode” button to stop Turtle Mode
- [ ] Switch to preferred flight mode
- [ ] Ensure aircraft is level and clear of obstacles
- [ ] Arm the aircraft and takeoff
Landing and Shutdown
- [ ] Approach the landing point
- [ ] Land aircraft, hold the throttle fully down on touch down. Release altitude stick ONLY AFTER propellers stop
- [ ] The aircraft arming switch can be used to DISARM the aircraft on touch down or just above the surface if precision landing is needed
- [ ] Ensure the aircraft is disarmed
- [ ] Unplug and remove aircraft battery
- [ ] Shut down GCS according to the procedure for the GCS type:
- [ ] ROG Ally
- [ ] Navigate to the desktop
- [ ] Select the windows start button
- [ ] Follow the prompts to power off the system
- [ ] Unplug USB-C cable and remove antennas before storing the GCS
- [ ] UXV
- [ ] Hold the Device Power button
- [ ] Follow the prompts to power off the system
- [ ] Log Flight
Emergency/Downed/Stuck Aircraft
-
[ ] DISARM Aircraft with ARMING SWITCH
- [ ] Aircraft motors will immediately stop spinning and aircraft will fall towards the ground
-
[ ] Note any flight data on screen (Location, direction, altitude)
-
[ ] If aircraft is upside down
-
[ ] If aircraft is level and clear from obstacles
- [ ] If the aircraft doesn’t move or can’t fly
- [ ] Return to launch at earliest ability for systems check
- [ ] After recovery proceed to the Inspection checklist
