In the event of an accident or emergency landing in which Arrowhead becomes stuck upside down or at an angle, Turtle Mode is available to return it to an upright position. Turtle mode is not a traditional flight mode, but is important to understand the characteristics of. Turtle mode is possible on axes, however Arrowhead is a bit rear-heavy so some directions are easier to turtle than others.

Steps to turtle

  1. To prepare to turtle first make sure the aircraft is disarmed.

  2. Next press on the button labeled “Start Turtle”. Once pressed it should read “Stop Turtle” to let you know Arrowhead is currently in Turtle mode.

  3. Now arm the aircraft. Please note that the motors will not spin up, but the aircraft status should read armed.

If your Arrowhead’s status reads “Not Ready” try switching to either Altitude or Stability flight mode. If Arrowhead is angled oddly you may not be able to Turtle in Position flight mode.

  1. Once armed, push and hold the right stick in the direction you want Arrowhead to flip. If Arrowhead struggles to flip in that direction, try flipping in a different direction.
  2. Once Arrowhead is oriented correctly, disarm the aircraft. Next make sure to press “Stop Turtle” to exit Turtle mode.
  3. You can now enter back into your preferred flight mode and continue your operations.
  4. Be sure to inspect Arrowhead for damage at the end of your operation if you needed to Turtle as of the result of an accident of any kind.
